Looking For An Air Cooled Vacuum Furnace?

While for some people, heat is the bane of their existence, for others, heat is an industry. Heat has many uses that people may not know of and underappreciate. No worries, we’ll explain those to you.

You see, it was difficult in the distant past to utilize heat properly for the sake of production. At most, you could use it as a blacksmith for metal productions in the old ages. That’s pretty much what heat was good for. Bending metals.

Obviously, heat continues to be a core requirement for production in the metallurgy business. Except that now, heat has a multitude of uses beyond just shaping the metal piece.

And it is all done with the wonderful technology we called vacuum furnaces.

So how do they operate exactly?
To simply put, a vacuum furnace is a sort of oven that heats things to really high temperatures (usually 1000+ Celsius).

Now, the problem with heating things (mostly metals here), is that heating them up to extremely high temperatures may cause oxidation. This means that they’ll react with the oxygen in air, forming compounds.

And you effectively end up losing the metal in the process.

As such, any furnace that heats metals up to such high temperatures, requires that it maintains a vacuum atmosphere. No air, no hydrogen, no carbon, no nothing. Nothing reacts, and all is good.

And what about the air cooled vacuum furnace part?
I know, it seems like a contradiction, doesn’t it? After all, if you’re heating them to such high temperatures in a vacuum, wouldn’t introducing air to the heated metals for cooling cause them to react?

But obviously, not any air is simply added to the machine. Inert gases such as Argon (if you know your chemistry, noble gases), are introduced to cool the metals down, while ensuring they do not react.

Now obviously, Argon itself is going to get heated in the process. No worries though, vacuum furnaces have the necessary technologies to cool down Argon too for reuse.

So why would I need a vacuum furnace in the first place.
A vacuum furnace for sale may not be a piece of cake to find, but it sure is helpful if you’re working with metals.

You see, one of the top features of a vacuum furnace, is the ability to sinter metals.

When sintering metals, you’re basically extracting them in pure form, and then shaping them into strong non-porous granules for use.

Future use that is. When sintering pure metals, you can use those metals in order to produce whatever you wish. You can shape tungsten into wires for lightbulbs, you can use iron at perfect quantities for steel utensils, etc.

In fact, I would bet that sintering furnaces are a core part of the metallurgy business today. Without one, you are definitely falling way back in terms of the competitive advantage you have.

So what are you waiting for? Why not go out and look for new sintering furnaces, and specifically vacuum furnaces for sale? You produce a lot, gain a lot, and lose nothing.
