Apple, Inc. iPhone maker, announced that they will not provide any more service or repair parts for Apple iPhone 4. Similarly, Apple will also discontinue servicing for 13-inch MacBook Air from 2010, the third generation AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule second generation, starting from October 31.

While Apple usually sets the maintenance iPhones that are older than 5 years, California requires manufacturers support electronics for 7 years. So in California, where Apple is based, is an exception.

While the iPhone 4 has been introduced in 2010, iPhone's story begins with a request of inventor Steve Jobs for the engineers of Apple Inc., by asking them to investigate the use of computer screens and touch pad, which came later to maturity with the iPad. Many have noted the similarities of the device to the previous touchscreen mobile device from Apple, the Newton MessagePad. As Newton, the iPhone is almost the entire screen. Its form factor is attributed to the head of Apple's design direction, Jonathan Ive.

In April 2003, "All Things Digital" executive conference, Steve Jobs expressed his confidence that the ...
... Tablet PC and the traditional PDA is not the right choice as the market high demand for Apple, to enter, despite the many challenges that his company Apple creates other PDA. He believed that cell phones would become important devices for access to mobile information and mobile phones needed to have a good synchronization software. At the time, instead of focusing on monitoring their Newton PDA, Jobs had Apple's focus on the iPod and the iTunes software (which can be used to sync content with iPod devices), published in January 2001.

7 September 2005, Apple and Motorola released the ROKR E1, the first mobile phone to use iTunes. Steve Jobs was unhappy with Motorola ROKR, the feeling of having to deal with a non-Apple designer (Motorola) prevented Apple phone design they want to do. As of September 2006, support for Apple ROKR and released a version of iTunes that contains references to an undisclosed mobile phone that could display pictures and videos. Ed Zander (Motorola's CEO at the time) "inspired" Steve Jobs with multimedia Moto (e.g. iTunes) + concept smartphone product. As a result, Apple has won a new product concept that was named "iPhone", while Motorola ironically left with the limited version of iTunes for Rokr / SLVR.

Steve Jobs presents the iPhone at the Macworld convention in January 2007, receiving attention from the media. Steve Jobs announced the first iPhone to be released later this year. 29 June 2007, the first iPhone was released.

11 January 2011, Verizon announced at a media event that it had reached an agreement with Apple and would start selling a CDMA iPhone 4. Verizon iPhone is on sale February 10th 2011.

During the official unveiling of Apple iPhone 4S 4 October 2011, it has been announced that Sprint would start carrying the CDMA iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S reconfigure in the US on October 14. Cricket Wireless announced May 31, 2012 , he would become the first prepaid in the US to offer iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, as of 22 June 2012. A week later, Virgin Mobile USA became the second US prepaid carrier to offer the iPhone 4 and 4S, announcing plans to release phones June 29, 2012.

Due to the inability of T-Mobile USA to provide iPhone customers increased their subscription churn rate, the instrument in an "untenable" position, and contributed to Deutsche Telekom parent decision to sell it to AT & T in March 2011; T-Mobile began offering the iPhone April 12, 2013.

Media reports emerged in early August 2013, which announced that Apple will launch its next iPhone model September 10, 2013, but other details are not available. Brian Barrett, editor of the publication Gizmodo, speculated that either an improved version of the iPhone 5 or a budget version would be released.
