Karisma Kapoor is one of the most charismatic actresses of Bollywood. She hails from the first family of Hindi cinema – The Kapoor Family. She is a great grand-daughter of legendary Prithvi Raj Kapoor, grand-daughter of Raj Kapoor and daughter of Randhir Kapoor and Babita. In her decade-long career she has given a number of memorable roles and carved for herself a distinct identity of her own. Her career can be seen in three phases. First, when she did films like Raja Babu which got her acclaim as a dancer. Second, the time when she did movies like Raja Hindustani, which won her recognition as an actress. And third phase was when she moved to more serious roles like Fiza and Shakti – The Power.

1. Prem Qaidi
Karisma Kapoor made her debut in Hindi film industry with this film in 1991. The film was a hit and she started getting film offers from big banners.
Anari was a super hit film in which Karisma with her great performance as Raj Nandini proved how talented she is.
3. Raja Babu
This movie was a super success at the box office and marked Karisma's transformation into a gorgeous diva. Her pairing with Govinda became a sensation amongst fans and they ended-up delivering many more blockbusters together.
4. Raja Hindustani
Cast opposite Aamir Khan, Raja Hindustani got Karisma her first Filmfare Award for Best Actress. She looked stunning in the film and delivered a superb performance.
5. Hero No. 1
This was one of the many no.1 movies of Govinda which rocked the nation in 90s. Karisma had the greatest chemistry with Govinda and they both complemented each other with their superb dancing skills.
6. Dil Toh Pagal Hai
Karisma played Nisha, who was madly in love with Shah Rukh Khan's character in the film. Her great performance won her the National Award for the Best Supporting Actress that year.
7. Biwi No. 1
Cast opposite Salman Khan in Biwi No. 1, Karisma became India's favorite wife after this one. She played Salman Khan's wife and won back his love after a nasty battle with the other woman, Sushmita Sen. The film also starred Anil Kapoor and Tabu.
A Khalid Mohamed film, Fiza is one of the most challenging roles essayed by Karisma Kapoor. As Hrithik Roshan's sister and Jaya Bachchan's daughter, she pulled-off the character of Fiza with conviction. She won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her performance in this film.
This Shayam Benagal movie was about the life of an actress, Zubeida Begum. Karisma was so good in the film that she won a Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress for her sensitive portrayal of the character of Zubeida.
10. Shakti – The Power
Shakti is considered as one of the best performances by Karisma for which she was acclaimed by fans and critics and earned several nominations and awards.
