But the appeal of the quilling paper earrings is unavoidable for the fashionable women of all ages. They can choose from a vast array of earrings of different colors, shapes and designs, which are displayed in various online stores and in the boutiques.
Unique mechanism of creating the Quilling paper earrings
The art of paper filigree is made by rolling up thin strips of colored papers, to form coils of different sizes that are termed as ‘Quilling’. Then these paper coils or Quilling rolls of different colors are arranged accordingly, to form the designs of the earrings. But there are certain procedures that are followed by all the makers of these quilling paper earrings.
First of all, the things required for quilling need to be bought. Either sheets of colored crepe papers or readymade thin strips of colored papers should be bought from any stationary shop. The required fittings for the earrings can be bought from the jewelry shops or any wholesaler who provide jewelry materials.
Then these strips of papers are separately rolled up into coils of various sizes, as per the demand of the design. There are some special quilling needles available in the market, around which these strips are wrapped to form the coils and then the open end is fixed with glue, before sliding off from the needle.
Then this coil is shaped up into various designs by pressing with the fingers; like tear drops, paisleys, squares, marquis, stars, diamonds and various other shapes.
Next, these shaped up coils are attached with one another with glue, to form the specific designs of the earrings. But utmost care is taken to make both the earrings of a pair to be exactly identical to each other.
Finally, the fittings are attached to both the quilled parts, with small metallic circles, to keep the whole design intact with these fittings. A special coating of water-resistant material is given over these earrings, to make them water-proof.
Various remarkable uses of the Quilling jewelry
The various quilling jewelry jhumkas and pendants are used for wearing daily, by the fashionable, but busy professional women, who prefer to wear lightweight jewelries, of contemporary designs. As these earrings are found in many colors, they can be matched with any colored attires of the ladies.
