Marriage is one of the most significant social institutions. It has evolved historically with great amount of rituals surrounding them. Then comes Thali Tying part. This is the moment when Kerala bride ties yellow string with a pendant that is shaped as banyan leaf on bride’s neck.
The next part is called Pudava Koda. This is also known as the original ceremony of Kerala matrimony. At this stage the bride goes to the bride’s house accompanied by his close relatives and family members. He presents the bride a Pudava in the presence of all the people. This action is considered the most sacred and it binds the both for a lifetime.
