There are various ways through which our natural resources become unfit for use. Water bodies are being constantly polluted all over the worlds by various dangerous chemical and biological wastes. Water pollution is a major concern in the third world countries. The most common factors that contribute to the contamination of water would be sewage, radioactive wastes, improper disposal of waste on land, and many more. Land pollution, in other words, means degradation of earth’s surface and soil, directly or indirectly as a result of human activities are conducted citing development, and the same affects the land drastically we witness land pollution; by drastic we are referring to any activity that lessens the quality and / or productivity of the land as an ideal place for agriculture, forestation, construction etc. The degradation of land that could be used constructively in other words is land pollution.

Air pollution affects a far larger number of people than water or land pollution do. It is an unwanted change in the quality of earth’s atmosphere caused by emission of gases due to burning of fossil fuels, out pouring of ashes and gases from the particulate matter due to soil erosion. Polluted air contains CO2, CO, NO2, SMP, SO2 and oxides of lead. Excessive rise of gases and chemical pollute air. In the present day, there is widespread concern that the ozone layer is deteriorating due to the release of pollution containing the chemicals chlorine and bromine. Such deterioration allows large amounts of ultraviolet B rays to reach Earth, which can cause skin cancer and cataracts in humans and harm animals as well. Then there issue of Global warming, which is defined as an increase in the average temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere, especially a sustained increase significant enough to cause changes in the global climate.

The term global warming is synonymous with an enhanced greenhouse effect, implying an increase in the amount of greenhouse gases in the earth’s atmosphere, leading to entrapment of more and more solar radiations, and thus increasing the overall temperature of the earth. This calls in for environmental initiatives in India. Those who do appraisable work in this regards gets rewarded for their work by Earth Care Awards. That’s why Go Green is working hard and promoting news for Earth Care. Caring for the planet and making it a better place to live in should be the prime motto of everyone who wants to have a sustainable future filled with abundant natural resources for their consumption.
