Corporates mostly prefer to have blue colored logos as it implies professionalism, serious-mindedness, sincerity, integrity, and calm. Facebook, Dell, Microsoft Word, Skype, Walmart, Ford, JP Morgan, Dell, GE, etc. are using blue logos.
For long, purple has been associated with the church and implies wisdom and dignity and historically a color of wealth and riches as it signifies royalty and luxury. Successful companies that are using purple for their logos are Yahoo, SyFy, TMobile, Hallmark, Wonka and much more.
On one hand black implies power and sophistication and on the other hand, it is connected with villainy and death. It is very mundane, that for using logos in media where color is not available, we have no option other than using black and white, but thankfully there is a current trend for bold monochrome logos and wordmarks. Apple, Adidas, HP, WWF, BMW, BBC are using black colored logos.
Generally associated with purity, cleanliness, and simplicity, white logos stand out in a colored field.
