Kerala: An Amazing Vacation Destination

Experience the serenity and natural beauty of God’s Own Country, with a Kerala vacation package.
It’s not a coincidence that Kerala is one of the most visited states in India, by tourists from all over the world. Whether it’s the charming backwaters with their statuesque houseboats, the sunny beaches, the verdant wildlife or the riveting cuisine, a vacation to Kerala is something you must take at least once in your lifetime.
The state has a mindboggling array of diverse natural beauty, from wildlife parks and nature trails, to beaches and backwaters. You can visit the tea estates and also take a plantation walk to take in the amazing beauty of the tea gardens along the Munnar hills. Make sure you visit the Periyar Tiger Reserve to take the bamboo raft through the dense jungles where you can spot elephants, deer, or maybe even a tiger. Take a boat ride on the Vembanadlake, one of the largest lakes in India with five major cities on its banks. Don’t miss taking a trip to the beautiful bird sanctuary near Kumarakom and the spice gardens of Periyar.
The backwaters are another major draw for Kerala vacation packages ...
... While there are a number of sites where you can enjoy these, the best views of backwaters are in the major cities of Cochin, Alleppey, Kollam, Kottayam, Kozhikode, Kumarakom and Thirunananthapuram. A visit to the backwaters is not complete without a stay on a houseboat. You have houseboats at almost every backwater location. Make sure you choose a luxury houseboat package in wither Kumarakom or Alleppey that allows you to spend many days watching the sunset, enjoying rich cuisine and simply lazing around in the quiet serenity of Kerala’s backwaters. Most houseboat trips begin by 11 am, so make sure that you arrive well in time.
Any Kerala vacation package will include a trip to some of its beaches. With nearly 600 kilometres of continuous coastline, Kerala also has some of the most fascinating beaches in India. If you wish to take a beachside holiday, Kovalam (Thiruvananthapuram) and Varkala are very good options. Varkala, especially, is popular for its vibrant nightlife and exquisite seafood. The pristine and less populated beaches in Alleppey, Mararikulam and Bekal are also worth a visit.
For the history enthusiast, Kerala is home to many historical monuments, reflecting the rich culture and diversity of the state. The Bekal fort is the largest fort in Kerala, and also among the most well preserved. Make sure you visit the Jewish synagogue at Mattancherry, and also the Padnabhapuram Palace, both marvellously different in their architecture and history. The Thalassery Fort stands as testament to the colonial history of India, and is a must visit.
Getting There
Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi have international airports, with daily flights to major destinations like Dubai, Singapore, Mumbai, Delhi, etc. So it is easy to reach Kerala from almost any part of the world. You can also use train or road networks which are extremely well developed. Travelling to and within Kerala is extremely easy and uncomplicated.
