Mercedes Benz has always been known for its luxurious feel, technological innovation, craftsmanship in design, dedication for best performance and commitment towards absolute safety of the driver and passengers. There are endless reviews, videos, and researched thesis on Mercedes Benz. All reiterating the Mercedes Benz slogan, ‘The Best or Nothing’; as said by the founder and father of the brand: Gottlieb Daimler.

Just going through mere reviews, will not fetch you much. Better you go for a Mercedes Benz test drive. Here are the things you need to keep in mind while you are taking a Mercedes Benz test drive.

How comfortable are you operating the various features?
As soon as you get to operate the car, check all the features available in the car. Make sure that you are being able to understand and operate them smoothly. You need to make sure that you are able to have a control over all the features even while driving in hurry, as it is even with the same ...
... features and specifications, different cars run differently.

Nothing better than an extended test drive
Most of the dealers these days allow you extended test drives. So if at all you are going for a Mercedes test drive, ask for an extended test drive; like an overnight one if possible. It is obvious that you would not be able to understand much from a mere twenty minutes’ drive around the dealership area. Take the car to your home and see if it can be smoothly taken in and out of your garage.

Driving on the highway
Try to have a ride on the nearest highway. Get the car on the nearest highway and check the acceleration on the on-ramp, and ensure that you are comfortable operating the car at freeway speeds. Apart from the comfort thing, keep checking for vibrations, tracking and power.

Look for stains below the hood
Check for signs of leaks or stains in the hood liner, films of oil or dirt on the engine or surrounding parts. In case it got cleaned recently start the power of the car on and keenly observe it running with the hood up for quite a considerable time. Also check under space of the car for fuel leakage.

Don’t miss out on the tailpipe
In order to check the tailpipe, put a figure inside it and check if it comes back as black or brown and dry. In case it’s bit oily, chances of engine problems are there, while in case you find slippery water chances of problem with the head gasket is predominant. Even in case of startup if there is a little smoke, there may (or may not be) issues with engine.

Crosscheck with a mechanic of your confidence
It is completely okay to take along your known mechanic while you are on a Mercedes Benz test drive who knows your car brand and functionality deeply so as to make you aware of all the tit bits.
