What is Distillation?
Distillation is a widely used industrial process for the separation of the chemical. This is an innovation that has helped the industry come up with pure separation process at a low cost. To understand the specifics of a distillation column, one has to know the process of distillation thoroughly. Distillation also known as fractionation and is highly useful to separate liquid mixtures. The process of distillation involves several stages. In each stage of the process, a liquid component is being contacted with the vapor components. While coming in contact with the Vapor component the less volatile elements of the mixture of liquid remains in the liquid phase while the highly volatile elements change into vapour. The vapours are then separated and cooled down to liquid form, and thus, the separation process is completed. Multiple repetitions of the process help to achieve a purity in the process of segregation.
About distillation column
A distillation column works on the principal used in the laboratory distillation process. The column consists trays that are being placed one above another. These trays help bring an immediate contact of the vapor and the liquid supporting the process of separation of the two components of the mixture. A taller column would allow higher fractions thus allowing the achievement of purer separation.

A distillation column comes in two variations, the paced variation and the tray variations. While the packed variations consist of beds inside the tower, the tray column has the alignments of several trays.
An inline reactor

An inline reactor works on the principal of bringing the solid in contact with the liquid with the help of a bottle roll. An inline reactor consists of a low speed rotating drum which is designed especially for a proper air supply. The solid leeches are being passed through the drum which consists Regents which are being continuously mixed while the drum rotates. The leached slurry are then being washed. This allows the recovery of various components like gold from a complex mixture. The residues are then being mixed with detoxifying agents to help the separation process be safe.

This type of reactor offers significant benefits regarding the cost efficiency. In fact, they are comparably safe to operate, the maintenance of these devices is easy as well and moreover these can be installed with a minimum amount of space. They offer an advantage over the traditional method of physical separation and also a process that causes a less hazard to the environment.
