A subcompact hatchback, Ford Figo is manufactured by Ford India, based out in Chennai. Ford Figo is quite popular among a wide range of car lovers ever since its launch in March 2010, inspired by the Mark V European Ford Fiesta hatchback.
By July 2010 there were 25,000 sales against this model involving all variants. A face-lifted model of the Figo was launched on October 15, 2012. This model has a larger hexagonal grill and redesigned head and tail lamps. The face-lifted version got released in South Africa in January 2013.
The engine comes in both variants of Petrol and Diesel, of 1.2L and 1.4L respectively. The petrol variant gives a mileage of around 12.5 kmpl in the city while on the highway it offers about 15.5 kmpl, and the diesel returns a mileage of around 16 kmpl in the city while on the highway it delivers a mileage of 19 kmpl. The transmission involves a 5-speed manual and the kerb weight of the car is between 1,040-1,130 kg (2,293 to 2,491 lb).
