In a country like, India, where Cricket is a religion and cricketers are no less than God, Cricket matches are like festivals. Although, cricket is not the national sport in India, it generates much more excitement and a greater fan following than the official national sport Hockey. Any why just only Hockey? In fact no other sport in the country can enjoy the position of cricket in respect to its popularity and revenue generation. That is why, win and loses in cricket is a matter of birth and death here. Fans are so aggressive and so attached to the game, that victory is celebrated like a Diwali and a lose is mourned by the entire nation.

The best example showing how the cricketing sentiments runs through the billions of fans in India is the ongoing series of India vs South Africa. In the first one day played at Dharamshala, when the Indian national side was at the verge of defeat, emotions among the fans were so high that they started throwing bottles and waste on the ground. This is definitely against the spirit of game, but fans are so crazy for their team that they just can't see India losing match. But at the same time, when India wins, the same fans celebrate the victory with such vigour and glory that even the celebration of Diwali seems a bit faded in front of it.

It is believed that it's very hard to defeat India in India. But this on going series with South Africa is proving it wrong. India has already lost the T-20 matches. He one-day series is also not going India's way. India has lost 2 one-day out of three. We can still win the series, we win the remaining two matches, that are going to played in Chennai on 21th Oct and in Mumbai on 25th Oct. After one-day series, there will be four test matches also which are to be played in Mohali, Bengaluru, Nagpur and Delhi.

Although, India is not playing too good as of now, but fans are still hopeful for a comeback. Next two one day matches' tickets are already sold out. Dhoni and team has to do something extraordinary now to defeat the team of South Africa who at the moment are looking in a sublime form and bang on focussed on their game. South Africa is playing exceptional cricket in this series, India has to improve on its game and skills to overpower the proteans.
