Human possess a common desire to learn and share information from everywhere- be it sports news, financial, economic, current affairs or stock market news. Undoubtedly, in the present scenario social media has not only paved new ways of communication and exchange of ideas globally, but also made it possible to participate into it in real time. Social Media, such as; printing, broadcasting, and electronic communication generally circulate information about current events which includes reports on war, entertainment, politics, sports, business, and unusual events as well. This whole process of circulating this packaged information finally conceived as latest news.

Transformation of news to breaking news:

Today, news has been closely associated with the newspaper until the style of news and its impact on national populations extended significantly with continuous live broadcasting of radio and television, and nonetheless, the internet. It is self- evident in journalism that the fastest medium with the largest potential will publicize the majority of a community's breaking news today. Today, that race is being won by television and radio. Development in technology, social media, and intelligence networks has increased the distribution speed of news and control its content as well. Consequently, daily newspapers started to lay more emphasize on analytical perspectives of incidents rather than present the events as “latest News Today” which has already been old news to many of their audiences.

Contents for news:

To make a grip on the audiences or readers novelty, service, quality, and significance of news must be kept in conscience. News evidently describes the world in the present, past, or future in a unique and novel way which can be depicted by this famous saying that “Dog Bites Man” is not news, but “Man Bites Dog” is. This suggests that news has an uncertain quality which implies the presentation of information in a distinguished manner which has been conceived previously very scholarly.

According to a commercial perspective, “what is being sold by the news industry is news”. Being a debatable point it actually is a visual of the present condition of news industry. It contemplates news with commodity which leads to the quality of the news. Today, most of the newspapers and the channels claim the values, impartiality, objectivity, and integrity in their news despite the failure in reporting an event without political bias. It would not be unfair to say that the quality and impartiality has been drastically changed over time.

How many channels or newspapers are worth to watch or read? Significance of a news implies the worth given to a certain issue. Recently, there were two instances going on

a) Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s death
b) Yaqoob Memon’s death sentence

Just opened up a leading newspaper consisted a small column at a side for a real hero’s demise and full page coverage for a terrorist’s last day routine. Was it worth? Or, the amateur assumptions, preconceived notions for leading and opposition political parties in an obnoxious manner are worth? The latest sports news and the other news were completely being forgotten and not given the desired importance.

However, public have considered the events “newsworthy” differently worldwide. Ultimately, People seem to be interested in the news to the limit which shows conflicts, involves celebrities, and try to get diverted from their daily lives routine, and consequently, it seems above mentioned contents have been changing over the time and gradually suppressed under TRP or selling news as a commodity.

Warp or shape up:

The way in which news is presented certainly affects common people. Without a doubt, news is the foremost source of awareness, facts and information about local and global affairs of people worldwide. Accordingly, the public will identify the highlighted or breaking news issues as its priorities. Therefore, it is the moral and ethical duty of the media; print or electronic to serve the public with genuine, unbiased, impartial and non-pressured information. Certainly media has the power to warp or shape anything. It is high time to choose wisely.
