Rafael “rafa” Nadal Joins Indian Aces!

Defending champions Indian Aces have a reason to rejoice this time. World's no. 1, Rafael Nadal is making his debut in IPTL, as the Marquee player of Indian Aces. The International Premier Tennis League, which had a successful debut season last year, is bigger and better this time, with the player like Nadal joining the stalwarts of Tennis. IPTL is the brainchild of Indian Tennis veteran, Mahesh Bhupati, with the aim of bringing quality Tennis to India. Last year, for the first time, people in India got to witness, two titans of Tennis, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, playing against each other in our very own Delhi. This time also, we are in for a treat as a marquee match, between Rafael Nadal of Indian Aces and Roger Federer of UAE royal, is scheduled to be played in India at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on December 12.

Joining the fours teams, Indian Aces, UAE Royals, Singapore Slammers and Philippine Mavericks, is Japan Warriors. All the teams have an interesting mix of young and experienced player. But one team which is definitely looking strong is the Indian Aces. With players like Rafael Nadal, Sania Mirza, Rohan Bopanna, Gael Monfils, Agnieszka Radwanska, Fabrice Santoro and Ivan Dodig, the team looks great to defend their title. They won the title last year, beating UAE Roayls, in a nail biting competition. This year, they are all the more confident to defend their title, with Rafael Nadal in their team. It can't get better than this for the Indian Aces!

While Rafa is there in the team this side, but there is a lot more than him in the Indian IPTL team. The old faces who are returning to the side are, our very own talent, Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna. Sania is looking in great form and why not, she is fresh off from her great Wimbledon Victory. Supporting her in the team is very talented, Rohan Bopanna, who is also a very good doubles player. One new name in the team is Polish player, Agnieszka Radwanska, who is known to play a subtle, yet smart game of tennis. She is World's no. 15 in Women's Tennis. With such a formidable composition, Indian Aces can give a tough competition to any team.

The Indian leg of the tournament will be played from December 10-12. Indian Aces will take on their opponents in New Delhi, at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. Be prepared to get mesmerized by some spectacular Tennis!
