In this pose, the practitioner has to bend in the form of the bow by lying prone and holding the legs with the help of the hands. This is an excellent pose for stretching. It provides sufficient strength to the spinal muscle. This strength is the result of the improved blood circulation caused by the bending.

One mandatory condition that is associated with yoga to get full benefit is breathing. The practitioner has to perform regulated breathing while doing yoga asana. In order to achieve a regulated breathing, the guidance of a yoga expert is essential.
