A Brief Review Of The Subaru Forester Diesel My15
Total Articles: 55
This is a brief Subaru Forester diesel 2015 review, I will not be covering the manual model as it has been covered extensively already elsewhere. Many Australian drivers have been waiting for a Subaru Forester diesel with an automatic transmission for many years. Of course, there has been a manual diesel model for quite some time, but many drivers prefer the extra smoothness and refinement that comes from marrying a CVT with a diesel power plant.
If you read a lot of Subaru car content you may be aware that many Subaru Forester diesel 2015 review articles focus on specifications only. Although this raw data can be important, it can also be taken out of context. The best way to get a feel for the Subaru Forester is to book a test drive and try it out for yourself. I suspect that you will be impressed with it's surefooted and responsive handling which is surprising in this class of SUV vehicle. The cabin is very comfortable with a great driving position.
The pricing is also keen, City Subaru has the Subaru Forester available for only $33,659 driveaway. Admittedly this pricing is for a demo model, but it represents fantastic value for money. If you would prefer a brand new model the price starts at $33,490 up to $42,490 which equates to an 8.5% price drop on the Forester range although this does not include on roads. This pricing is part of a price drop across the entire Subaru range which is an additional saving on top of the $500 reduction earlier this year due to the Japanese Free Trade Agreement.
The diesel engine is the flat four turbocharged model that is used in the larger Subaru Outlander. This 2.0-liter boxer diesel engine develops 108kW/350Nm of power. The power is evenly distributed, gear shifting is smooth in operation and surprisingly quiet. Progress feels very positive with a nice amount of torque making this a great family vehicle. The Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) is all wheel drive only and does a great job of varying its gearing ratio as required. This equates to a claimed fuel economy of 5.9 liters/100km in the 2.0D-L and 2.0D-S manual models. Due to the ultra efficient automatic CVT both the 2.0D-L and 2.0D-S automatic models achieve an even more impressive 6.3 litres/100km.
This Subaru Forester diesel 2015 review only tells part of the story. The best way to experience the Subaru Forester diesel is to take it out for a test drive. If you book a test drive online with City Subaru today you could receive 12 months complimentary roadside assistance, a full tank of fuel and a set of floor mats.
