Total Articles: 11
There was a time when I was not in favour of carpets. I found them too heavy and not as per my choice. But last Sunday I went to my friend’s place and my idea changed completely. I never knew that there are light weight carpets as well. And they come in different shapes and sizes as well. I practically fell in love with them. So I decided to do a research work on carpets. Interestingly carpets are quite old. It was used in the Persian dynasty and was considered to be a symbol of royalty and class. Over the years Persian rugs was used by the commoners and gradually made its way in our lives. So far so good! Imagine you are decorating your house with something that the royals used to do. Classy isn’t it? I immediately decided to invest in it. But what are the things that I need to consider? Following are certain guidelines:
• Design and shape: with so many different oriental carpets collections and varieties out there which one should I opt for? Square, round, rectangle or diamond shape? Well, let me take into account the place where I plan to display it. Accordingly I decided to select the design. You do the same too. This will save you time and you will have a clear idea about the shape that you would like to flaunt. Simple isn’t it?
• Color: what color do I want my carpet to be in? There are so many tempting colors out there. Let me pick one as per the interior decoration of the room. I also consider the wall color of the particular room. I wanted to maintain the balance and let everything be in syn. Otherwise the carpet would have stood out like a sore thumb.
• Quality: how can you forget the quality of the product? Don’t compromise on it. Otherwise there will shreds of threads spread all over the room. So always insist on high quality of the product. Don’t you wish to enjoy the benefits of the carpet in the long run?
• Cost: how can you forget this? In fact when you go to purchase the carpet this is the first thing that will strike you. After all you need to know whether you are able to afford the carpets or not. High quality products are quite expensive while the regular, run of the mill products are quite cheap. Depending on what you want you will have to bear the cost. I want quality so I am interested to shell out extra money as well.
• Delivery: there are many online stores that deal in these items. Once you place the order and make the payment, they will deliver it at the address provided. So don’t forget to check out the delivery procedure.
Once you consider all these aspects, you will be in a much better position to decide which antique carpets to buy for your house. I have already purchased a few and I have set my eyes on the next few that I would love to own and decorate my house with.
