Humans have dealt with income taxes for about as long as human history, with the first forms of it being sacrifices of the fruits of labor to a higher being. While the reasons for this has changed over the years, as tithes and sacrifices to gods were updated to income taxes to governments, people have been getting taxed on their hard work for all of time and those who do not pay these fees need to find tax resolution services Encino to get out of trouble with their deity or with their local government. While the forms of income taxes may have evolved over the years, people are still paying out of their pockets, although now they are contributing to public services and government programs, rather than to an unseen deity.
In ancient times, people would sacrifice a portion of the fruits of their labor to their deities as an offering, which can be seen as the first form of the income tax. While this form of the tax was not for economic purposes, it employed the same principle of taking from what you earned. Income taxes were used to collect fees for owning property such as homes, land, real estate, slaves, animals, and other personal items and wealth. When countries were to go into a war, taxes would be raised in order to collect funding for the war effort. This was used in the Saladin tithe, in order to raise money for the third crusade.
In more modern times, the income tax was introduced in Britain by William Pitt, which was started in order to help pay for weapons that were to be used in the French Revolutionary War. This tax was abolished during the Peace of Amien, but reintroduced when relations with France turned once again hostile. In the United States, the income tax was first introduced in 1861 to aid in raising funds for the American Civil War. While income taxes remained largely used for the purposes of war in the United States, the first income tax implemented in peacetime was in 1894 and by 1913 the income tax became a permanent part of the tax system, protected by the sixteenth Amendment.
Income taxes have been a part of human life for as far back as humans have been in existence, and will continue on until we are gone. While income taxes have had a history with being associated with wartime, it has now permeated into our day to day lives and goes toward public systems and services and the government.
