The Rocky Mountain Automotive Press has given its top prizes to two members of the Chrysler family of vehicles. The 2015 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel was recognized as Truck of the Year, while the 2015 Chrysler 200 was awarded Car of the Year. The announcement was made at the 2015 Denver Auto Show.

These prestigious awards are given by the Rocky Mountain Automotive Press. Before voting, a panel of automotive journalists are given the opportunity to study and drive the newest vehicles on the market. Vehicles are judged on performance and fuel economy as well as value and features. Journalists are asked to consider how the vehicle will suit the challenges of the Rocky Mountain lifestyle.

The Ram 1500 EcoDiesel beat several newcomers to be named the Rocky Mountain Truck of the Year. This was a tough class this year. A thermal management system reduces the effects of heat when the going gets tough. The TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic shifts gears more precisely, improving the way that power is used. The auto-leveling suspension is a class-exclusive feature. Drivers can raise or lower the bed according to their needs. The system can also level the load automatically to improve aerodynamics.

While the Ram 1500 puts a premium on fuel conservation, it doesn't sacrifice capability. The EcoDiesel engine offers a high rate of torque that moves heavy loads with ease.
