Delhi
This is where the journey starts and though the city is littered with spots worth visiting, it is left to the tourists to take a tour on their own. The most worthwhile places are India Gate, Humayun’s tomb, Lal Killa or Red Fort, Qutab Minar, Safdarjang Tomb, Jama Masjid and Jantar Mantar.

A visit to Chandni Chowk will give them the taste of quintessential India with its bazaars and narrow lanes chock-a-block with tiny shops as well as large shops standing shoulder to shoulder.

Agra
Bharatpur is a stop on the route, known for the famous Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary but guests proceed straight on to Agra. On the way they visit Fatehpur Sikri, a city conceived by Emperor Akbar to be his capital. Built in the 16th century the city never fulfilled its purpose due to lack of water but still, it is a fabulously beautiful place with its palaces and mosques.

However, the main attraction for guests are the Red Fort and the Taj Mahal in Agra. The Taj is a World Heritage Site and is a gracious monument dedicated by Emperor Shah Jahan to his queen Mumtaz Mahal whose mausoleum is right here. Guests ...
... can thereafter go shopping for some marble inlay work, for leather goods and jewellery for which Agra is famous.

Khajuraho
Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh is known for its collection of temples with erotic art. Guests visit the Chandela Temple comple and marvel at the fine carvings. The temple complex was built during the Chandela dynasty by a succession of Kings from the 10th to the 11th Centuries. Of the 22 temples guests get to visit the Kandariya, Chatrabhuj, Ghantai and Parswanath Temples.

Varanasi
Varanasi is the world’s most ancient city that has been continuously lived in and is the spiritual heart of India. Guests go on an early morning boat ride on the Ganges River where they can view pilgrims taking a bath that is said to wash away all sins. The afternoon is reserved for a trip to Sarnath in the neighborhood, a Buddhist destination, where it is said Buddha delivered his first sermon after he gained enlightenment.
