It makes them durable towards punctures and requires lesser maintenance, when compared to pneumatic lift trucks. Since they are created from solid tires, ability to absorb shocks reduces. Lift trucks of electric solid cushion type are much similar to that of cushion trucks. Only difference which is noticed is that they use batteries having different voltage.
• Internal combustion trucks: Among internal combustion trucks, two major variants are present, which are pneumatic tires and cushion tires. Forklifts having cushioned tires are specifically meant for smooth surfaces, while pneumatic tires work better for both rough and smooth surfaces. Such lifts make use of CNG, LPG, Diesel and Gasoline as fuel options. When it comes to outdoor use, those which run on gas have been termed to be much better and LPG can be used for indoor purpose. All such lifts may cost lesser than that of forklifts that are electric driven, however, maintenance and fuel cost compels its usage to be expensive.
• Internal combustion engine and electric forklifts: Electric forklifts run on batteries, which are charged periodically for making trucks to keep on functioning.
