Personality
Personality is defined as the sum total of the physical, mental, emotional, and social characteristics, as well as the organized pattern of behavioral characteristics of an individual.

Merit
Merit exists only in works that are positively good. The relation between merit and reward furnishes the intrinsic reason in the matter of performance and its remuneration. Merit pay is an additional incentive paid to the employees based on goals achievements set by the employer. It can also be termed as recognition of performance. Merit pay typically involves the supervisor meeting with the employee to discuss the employee's work and to award an increase or a bonus based on

performance.
Knowledge
Knowledge is a fluid mix of framed experience, values, contextual information, and expert insight that provides a framework for evaluating and incorporating new experiences and information. It originates and is applied in ...
... the minds of employees. In ITES organizations it often becomes embedded, not only in documents or repositories but also in organizational routines, processes, practices and norms.

Goals
Goals of employees in ITES companies are generally building a skill or knowledge or changing a particular behavior. Even in a changing business environment these goals are good.

Self-Esteem
Self-esteem is made up of three components. They are self-love, self-acceptance and self-worth. Self-love is the ability to be kind and loving to oneself. It binds self-acceptance and self-worth together gives self-esteem. Self-acceptance is the ability to acknowledge our strengths and our weaknesses and accept them as equally valid parts of ourselves. Self-worth is how valuable, useful or worthwhile we view ourselves.

Ability
Ability is the proficiency to absorb and comprehend instructions and fundamental principles with the ability to reason, make judgments and solve problems. Employees feel good about one when they learn new things and part of that joy is sharing with others. It can be in the form of best practice meeting or in the case study discussions.

Creativity
Every human being is capable of creative thought. We have creative abilities that often show up very early in life. Studies show that the average adult thinks of only three to four alternate ideas for any given problem, while the average youngsters can come up with sixty. They have proven that as far as creativity is concerned, quantity equals quality. Having the subjects make a list of ideas, the study shows that the longer the list, the higher the quality of the final solution.

Attitude
Success and performance depends on one’s attitude. There are two types of attitude namely positive attitude and negative attitude. An employee with positive attitude is a high performer. One has to control their attitudes and cultivate in positive attitudes in spite of all struggles. An employee with positive attitude is caring, confident, patient, humble, cheerful, fun loving, positive, hardworking, dedicated, committed and has high expectations about them. They constantly improve their productivity, has an easy approach to problems, improves quality of work, creates lasting and effective relationships, is highly loyal to the organization, passionately contributes to its profit, reduces stress, forms in them a pleasing personality, is courageous to take risks and initiatives, and takes responsibility for their growth and
performance.

Persistent Efforts
Persistence means keep on trying for success. It means carrying on with one’s plans even through many failures and discouragement. It means simply never, ever, quit from attempting to get to the goals. No successful person ever obtained their success without the quality of persistence.
It’s easy to see why persistence is so important. If someone has big hopes and dreams for their life, persistence is their best friend. It drives them closer and closer to their wants and needs. It is the wind in their sails and the fuel in their tank. Persistence is the engine that takes their initial plans and drives them. Without persistence one may well quit at the first sign of defeat. But having the quality of persistence helps one realize that any defeat is only temporary.

Growth
Employee growth is an essential element of any company growth. If a company wants to attract and retain the best people, it needs to invest in employee’s growth. New employees will find it rewarding to learn new things and take on better and better challenges. Progress is a result of an organization that fosters learning and constant improvement.
Star performers need to be recognized by a pat on the back, but ignoring this need can be demoralizing. Performance can suffer if the employee receives no recognition for their efforts. The creative learning process can be encouraged by openness to new ideas or suggestions. Management can formalize this process with suggestion plans with cash rewards attached for useful ideas.
Understand the employee’s feelings about their career. Most employees start out in a job on the bottom with hopes of advancement. One way to increase employees drive is to discuss the likelihood of advancement or lateral movement within the company structure. It might be a different position, or a promotion, in a sister concern, employees should know that their company cares for them. Let them know that company is there to help them achieve their professional growth.

Involvement
Employee involvement is the creation of an environment wherein people are involved in the decision making process. Employee involvement is the leadership philosophy of how the people are involved in the functioning of the organization. In short it is an effort to pool in the ideas of the employees that can help in the achievement of the desired results. The aim of the ITES organizations must be to involve maximum number of employees in the decision making process of all the work aspects of the organization. The benefits of employee involvement are increase in ownership and commitment, retention of the employees and help to achieve the employee satisfaction. It is one of the most factors that help to promote team building.

These personality traits do influence in the carrier development of the employees to move up in the hierarchy toward senior management and also gives satisfaction in what they are doing.
