Do Chiropractors Need Better Automated Services
Total Articles: 238
The medical communities as a whole, including chiropractors, are much in demand in the United States. It is estimated that 30 million Americans use a chiropractor each year. How many chiropractors are there to serve them? A meagre 60,000 in the entire 50 states.
There are many related and unrelated reasons why it is so hard to get a chiropractor appointment. Certainly one reason is that many of the doctors are simply too overwhelmed. One of the efforts made on behalf of the entire community in the past years has been to advance automated solutions that all chiropractors, and indeed those in others segments of the medical community, can use to lower the administrative burden of being a doctor or running a business.
One of those automated solutions has been the chiropractic soap software. SOAP stands for Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan. In simple terms, when you enter a chiropractor’s office, your version of what the problem is, is the subjective part. The doctor will then attempt to examine those symptoms that can be readily observed. That is the objective part. Assessment is the doctor’s diagnosis. And everyone knows the plan part.
But there must be a report for each such session and the SOAP software is what chiropractors use for note taking and reporting. For that, there needs to be chiropractic certified software. The medical community has been working with various information technology companies for many years to create user-friendly and pragmatic chiropractic certified EHR software packages. These electronic health record systems are vital to any doctor’s work. Otherwise, there would be papers piling up everywhere.
But not all chiropractic EHR software is the same and recent technological advances have created more demands and challenges. As an example, while desktops gave way to laptops and laptops made room for tablets, all that required new codes to make the software more portable as well.
There is little debate over the fact that healthcare costs in the United States keep going higher and higher, while many Americans are becoming less able to cope. Adopting a unified software package that would help doctors and make records portal for everyone at all times could contribute to capping costs.
