A hybrid vehicle is a vehicle which runs on more than one power source. Typically, a hybrid car runs on both gasoline and electricity. In the past few years, the hybrid car has gained in popularity due to the vehicle's environmental friendliness. In addition, transportation departments around the United States and even the world have started to use hybrid trains and buses to serve the public transit needs of its residents.

Here are three reasons why you should drive a hybrid vehicle.

You would be doing your environment a big help

Have you ever wanted to go green and reduce your carbon footprint? Many environmentalists say the best way for you to reduce your carbon footprint would be to take the bus, carpool, walk, or ride a bike. What happens when those things become too cumbersome? You might not like taking the bus or your job may be way too far for you to commute by walking or riding a bike.

This is where a hybrid vehicle comes in; as mentioned earlier, the hybrid runs on fossil fuel and electricity. One of the many pollutants to come out of traditional ...
... vehicles is carbon dioxide (CO2) which has been a supposed cause of global warming. Whether or not you believe in global warming, it is evident that too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere can prove to be problematic.

If you want to make your drive greener, then you should consider driving a hybrid. Also a hybrid can significantly reduce your fuel costs, making the car financially friendly too!

You get a quiet drive

One of the many annoyances of the traditional vehicle is the loud noise while driving. The hybrid vehicle has a quiet engine, providing the motorist a silent and less stressful drive. However, it was noted in Slate Magazine, that the hybrid vehicle was too quiet; as a result manufacturers are building hybrids with artificial sounds, solely for the purpose of public safety so that pedestrians can hear the cars coming. But, it is important to note that these automated sounds are for the safety of the pedestrian and in no way does it become bothersome to the driver.

Driving a hybrid is not any different than driving a traditional car

Obviously, a hybrid car differs greatly from a traditional fossil fuel powered car due to a hybrid having a dynamic power source, being more ecologically friendly, having a quiet engine, and saving motorists money on gas prices. However, you would drive a hybrid the same way you would drive a regular car. Furthermore, the hybrid vehicle automatically switches between power sources the same way a laptop would switch to battery power when you unplug your laptop. Why is this a good thing? With a hybrid, vehicle, you may use fossil fuel while driving, but when you make a stop, then the electric power source takes over preserving your gas. In situations where your gas is empty, then you could run on electric power. Also you can recharge the electricity in your car at an electric charge zone.
