Types of Vacuum Sealing Tape

There are two different types of vacuum sealing tape variants which are used industrially – A yellow tape and a black tape. You need to understand specifications of both these tapes separately, in order to understand its properties more effectively. Here are the specifications:

• Yellow sealant tape – This tape is a high temperature tape with multiple purposes. This kind of tape is easily removable from the surface where it is used and is thicker than other variants, hence is known to prevent leakages more effectively. Though, it has one demerit, as it is very difficult to shift position of this tape due to its wider tacks. Size of the tape is within the recommended dimensions for industrial uses at 3mm x 12mm. The length per roll for this vacuum sealing tape is 7.5 meters. It has a shelf life of 12 months and has capacity of bearing upto 150oC temperature.

• Black sealant tape – This is second type of vacuum sealing tape. These are also commonly known as high temperature black sealant tape. This tape is very appropriate for metal and composite material bodies or tools. Very likely the yellow tape, this tape is also easily removable and if installed, is very difficult to shift from the initial place due to the thickness of tack. Other dimensional specifications of this tape is pretty much that of the yellow one. It has a capacity to bear upto 100oC temperature.
