This unit is mainly created to temporarily support a project. The services provided by this unit in supporting data management, governance coordination, reporting and administrative activities to support the project. They work in tandem with other PMO in sharing vital data and reports for the smooth function of the team.
This unit is otherwise is also known as Project Support Office. It provides support for managing Project, program or portfolio work. They also ensure that the various processes of the Project Management are well maintained and established. They also develop tools and practices to support a particular project. Adding to their responsibility are the support through mentoring, training and certification activities for project managers within its area of responsibility. The unit looks after any PMP Training requirements for the Project Teams and thus ensuring quality.
The Global PMO works across an enterprise or organization. It is often responsible for aligning of project and program works as per corporate strategy. It is their responsibility to establish and to ensure that appropriate enterprise project, program, and portfolio are administered so that the project is aligned with the center's mission of the organization. PMP Certification Training might sometimes need to be provided to the Project Managers to better assist them in their Project completion requirements. The unit is responsible for providing strategic planning, training for achieving the organizational goals.

This unit support that organization to perform at its best by improving the Project Management methods, processes and standards by providing the right mix of training, mentoring, talent acquisition, providing the right kind of human resource for the success of the project. The Center of Competency which is another nomenclature for this unit has to ensure that if the project manager require training then they are provided with PMP Online Training or On-site Training.
