Steel Water Storage Tanks

By Expert Author: Watertankco

In today's world, it pays to be prepared. Whether on a farm, an industrial complex or on the grounds of a school, it's always best to be prepared in the event of an emergency. One of the most essential items needed anywhere is an ample supply of clean drinking water. To ensure drinking water is available when needed, more and more people are opting to purchase steel water storage tanks.

Considered the best and safest way to store drinking water, steel water storage tanks are widely used at residences, businesses and farms around the world. Designed to be long-term solutions for drinking water storage, they are made with very sturdy exteriors and interiors specifically designed to keep drinking water safe for a very long time.

Whatever size tank is used often depends on the needs of the individual or facility. For residences, a 150-gallon tank can often be big enough to satisfy whatever needs they may have. However, for industrial complexes, hospitals or farms a much bigger tank will be needed. To meet the demands of these businesses, tanks as big as 50,000 gallons may be needed. Farms are in particular need of tanks in which to store water, so that in the event of a drought they will have an ample supply of fresh water on hand to help irrigate crops, care for livestock and other demands that may arise.

One of the best features of steel water storage tanks is their ability to be installed either vertically or horizontally, above ground or beneath. Diameters can range from just over three feet to more than 13 feet, giving them the ability to store vast amounts of water for an extended period of time. The tanks can be up to 100 feet long and weigh as much as 70 tons, making them virtually impossible to damage or move without the use of heavy equipment. The tanks can be built to meet whatever local, state or federal regulations are in place, and come with a number of accessories including ladders, vents, pumps and gauges.

Along with being used in permanent locations, steel water storage tanks are also widely used in remote locations that are designed to be only temporary. Construction projects, movie sets and research projects in isolated areas all call for steel water storage tanks to store a supply of drinking water for everyone there. Wherever a clean supply of water is needed, these tanks can be customized to meet the exact requirements of a project, facility or individual.

Whatever the setting, steel water storage tanks are up to the challenge. Whether its 150 gallons or 50,000 gallons, these tanks can get the job done.
