In An Acne Crisis? Try These Ideas!

By Expert Author: Manilyn

Congratulations, you got your first pimple. Welcome to being a teenager, as this is most likely the first of many. This article will explain why you get acne, and also go into some of the most common ways that you can clear up your your skin and prevent new acne and pimples from occurring.

Try using salt water to clear up your acne. If regular facial soap and water aren't quite getting the job done, try washing your face with salt water instead. It will work to remove oil without drying out your skin. Just be careful about getting it in your eyes or inside open abrasions.

You may also be intolerant of certain foods so be aware of this; if you notice you start to break out after you eat chocolate then don't eat chocolate for a while to see if this reduces your amount of acne. Each person is different, and you have to find what works for you.Remember that you are what you eat. In addition, try drinking more water and eating healthier foods as all of this will promote a healthy body.

You shouldn't get yourself obsessed over one pimple. It can actually cause you more stress, and you will break out in multiple places. Just let it be and it will go away on its own. If you continue to worry about it, it will only get worse.

Control you acne by limiting the amount of refined carbohydrates and sugar that you eat. Consuming refined carbohydrates as well as sugar leads to a spike in the production of the hormone insulin, which regulates your blood glucose level. Increased production of insulin encourages the skin to excrete sebum, a grease-like fluid which causes breakouts.

Using an ice cube wrapped in a soft washcloth and holding it on your blemish can help with acne. Hold the ice cube for a few minutes directly on the blemish and repeat the procedure every hour. The cold compress helps with the discomfort of acne. Do not hold the ice cube on a blemish for more than a few minutes at a time.

Try to use makeup sparingly. If you are having an acne breakout, it is best to avoid wearing some makeup, such as foundation, powder, and blush. Keep in mind, if you do wear makeup, you need to wash it off at the end of the day. If you can, buy oil-free makeup that has no added dyes or chemicals. Always check the ingredient list when purchasing makeup.

Avoid touching your face with dirty hands. Fingers and hands are the part of the body that collect the most germs, mostly due to the fact that people touch many objects throughout the day. If you must touch your face for some reason, make sure you wash your hands with warm water and soap first.

If you are battling an acne breakout, use turmeric and neem oil as a home remedy to take care of your symptoms. Mix the two products together and put it on your blemish. Allow it to set in for approximately 20 minutes before you wipe it off. Your face will be clearer in no time!

Stop using products that have chemicals or perfumes in them on your hair, too! Even if you have stopped using these types of products on your skin, you can still get acne from the stuff you're using on your hair. Make sure to only use natural products on everything that touches your skin, even laundry detergent or fabric softener can cause your skin to become infected.

To help prevent acne you should always be mindful of keeping your face clean. You should wash your face daily to remove dirt and excess oil that could potentially block your pores. Blocked pores can trap bacteria which is what causes acne in the first place. Wash your face with a facial cleanser as opposed to bar soap because soap can be harsh on the face.

Acne Remedies

For natural acne remedies, try using a honey mask, once a week. It may be hard to believe, but honey contains natural antibacterial properties. It's a cheap way to pull irritants from your pores and leave your skin glowing. Better yet, it tastes a lot better than any masks from your local department store would!

Be patient when using natural acne remedies, such as tea tree oil. It takes a bit more time for natural remedies to work than chemical remedies; however, the end results are better and longer lasting. When you use natural remedies for acne, you are boosting your immune system to fight future breakouts. Additionally, your skin will be softer, healthier and more radiant after using natural acne remedies.

In conclusion, you received your first zit but it is not the end of the world. Just follow the tried and true techniques that were listed in this article and you will see that your skin will clear up and you will lessen your chances for future outbreaks.
