Ruby is a gemstone which is rich in corundum mineral. It has either a pink or a blood-red colour. Chromium is responsible for this colour change. It is one among the known precious stones available. The flow of liquid or gas can be controlled by using the ruby nozzles. The high pressure nozzles are available at various ranges of sizes. The durability, strength and resistance to rust are the main features of this ruby nozzle.

Ruby ball lenses are usually used in applications where hard materials are a main concern together with the features of withstanding environmental and thermal shocks. Its diameter can be made as low as 0.15mm. They are used in the production of flow readers and bar code readers. It is also considered in the production of fibre optic connectors. They are also used in wind indicators. These are highly chemically stable. It is best suited for severe environments.

Ruby orifices are wire lapped and they are formed by drilling with laser. They will be highly wear resistant. These are burr free. It will be round shaped and sharp edged. Stainless steel orifice nozzles have longer lifetime than what is expected. Operating and maintenance cost of these materials are low which is the fact that makes this attractive. It is very economical.

The increase in nozzle flow determines the wear of the nozzle. Cold Fog produces ruby orifice nozzles which have a lifetime warranty. As the nozzles starts to wear, the droplet size from it increases thus causing trouble with the spraying pattern. The resultant of this problem is ultimately the system failure. Before the liquid is passed through the nozzle it must be made sure that the contaminants in it removed by treating it in RO or DI system.
