Cotton and jersey materialized bikinis were not in much demand as they were not comfortable to be worn. But since Lycra bikinis are brought in to existence the demand for it has increased big time. It is very comfortable. It comes in various modified styles as well. Other than in beaches and pools it is also used in various sports activities like beach volleyball, athletics and other sports. The reason behind it is that it brings a lot of comfort, makes it condition friendly as volleyball is played on sand, it helps one to bare the heat in summer and also is used as a medium to attract attention.

Tankinis: It is a type of bathing suit which is also known as tanqueray. It mostly comes in Lycra, cotton, nylon and spandex materials. Tankinis come in various types of colors, styles, designs, prints and shapes. The combination of a top and bikini bottom makes a tankini. It is made for women and children. It was introduce in the late 1990s and since then they are in fashion.

These days you get a lot of designer swimwear which can be used for all purposes. There are many companies and reputed brands that are into manufacturing bathing suits. All the swimwears are mostly made in USA.
