Handicraft is a constructive form of design made by hand. It can be done on various metals, stones, wood, mud etc. Handicraft gives the reined living of the natural products.
Stone Handicraft shows the beauty and traditional style of Indian artist. There are various forms of these Handicraft. Classification is done on the basis of formation and mineral content. It includes- Marble Handicraft: There are so many monuments, sculptures one can find in India which shows the great historical Art. The Taj Mahal is one of the biggest examples of Marble handicraft. Interior and exterior part of the building made of marble and handicraft done over it gives a royal touch to a building. Sandstone Handicraft: This stone is generally made of Quartz Rock. This stone is known for its acid resistance property and saline water so it's generally preferred for the exteriors. Sculptures made of this stone will last long but sculptures are difficult to make out of this stone. Slatestone handicraft: This stone comprises of clay and volcanic crashes. This stone is a bit delicate and advised to handle with care. These stones are best placed on the walls of kitchen and bathroom because of its rough and flat finish. Granite handicraft: Granite is very much similar to marble but a bit expensive. It is generally used for flooring, Wall tiles, Kitchen Slabs etc. The sculptures made of Granite are generally not so clear due to dark base.These sculptures are generally found in Forts and are proved to be the most historic form among stone Handicraft. Quartzite handicraft: It is basically sandstone.Standstone is heated and put under pressure and made into Quartzite. These apart from construction purpose are also used for "vastu". People place these stones at the corner of their houses to bring peace and prosperity. It is generally suggested by astrologers. Limestone handicraft: Limestone is a kind of rock which contains minerals and calcium carbonate. It is most widely used these days for making buildings, base of the roads. It is mostly used in the flooring of hospitals, airports etc. Not just construction but it's also used for making cosmetic and other things. This is the reason it's called the beautiful gift of nature. Precious Stone Craft: Not just marble but it is done on various precious stones as well which are generally used for interiors of home as they are precious and expensive. These are generally used for home décor, home furnishing, table tops etc. Using gemstones add luxury to stone handicraft It is very difficult to give a proper shape and cut the hard stone into sculptures. It is basically found in the form of rock and making blocks of it without damaging the stone is the first process. Cutting edge Technologies and other methods are used for the superior results. Stone wash basins, Stone decorative, Stone fountains are few common handicraft things made from the various stones.
