Plan An Affordable Visit To Napa

By Expert Author: www.cheapfares.com

Cheap travel options, such as cheap airplane tickets, discount hotel rooms, discount travel deals, and cheap vacation packages, can all be used to get you in the vicinity of the California Napa wine country. However, you need to be carefully or you will end up spending a bundle on wine tastings and restaurants once there.

To enjoy a budget friendly visit to Napa you need to select your wineries wisely. One approach is to eliminate many wineries simply by price given that many tastings can costs $50 or more a person. You should try to stay with $10 to $15 wine tastings and look for two-for-one deals. Bargains can be found using the Winery Finder app and/or by picking up coupons at the Napa Valley Welcome Center.

Don’t be too cheap when it comes to tastings. Many view the tasting at Tres Sabores (which costs $25 a person) a bargain.

Many hidden values can be found by selecting small scale wineries located far into the hills. Tres Sabores may prove too expensive for a group. A good substitute would be the tiny Nichelini Winery where with a coupon a tasting is $15 for two. No tour is offered on the premises, but there are tables for picnic lunches and a bocce court.

Consider dinning at the bar of Il Posto Trattoria in the town of Napa. This is a reasonably prices restaurant that is more popular with locals than visitors. An elegant bowl of house pulled spaghetti with beef, pork and veal meatballs and a vibrant tomato sauce can be had for $12.

Instead of visiting expensive wineries on the highway side of wineries along the valley’s two main roads, the St. Helena Highway and the Silverado Trail, check out Pride Wine which is located far up a winding mountain road. Tastings go for $15 per person with fascinating tours provided.

An excellent lunch can be enjoyed at Ad Hoc Addendum, a small shack behind Thomas Keller’s Ad Hoc that serves $16.50 box lunches Thursday to Saturday only. Dinner can be even cheaper by enjoying $1.50 beef cheek tacos, the only choice at Tacos Chavez, served from a truck in the lot of a convenience store at 75 Coombs Street in Napa.

You do not have to skip all of the bigger wineries. You just need to choose well. The Hess Collection Winery offers a multilayered experience up a winding road from the highway. A four-wine tasting costs $10 or $5 with a two-for-one coupon.

There are a few low cheap lodging options in the town of Napa. The cheapest rooms cost $90 to $100 including tax. Affordable hotels worth checking out include the Wine Valley Lodge, the Napa Discovery Inn, Motel 6, and Napa Discovery.
