The vegetables add flavor and color to the meat cooked on Shish Kebab Skewers and also can be cooked individually if you want a pure vegetarian meal. Those vegetables are ideal for kabobs that you can cut easily into small pieces and which can hold together at the time of threading them on the skewers. Before placing the vegetable Shish Kabobs on the Grill, season them with olive oil or butter, salt and pepper, to add more taste to them.
What vegetables can go best with your Shish Kebab Skewers? You will get to know about this as soon as you finish reading this article. Let us talk about tomatoes first. Tomatoes of cherry size are best size that you can choose for preparing vegetable kabobs or for garnishing the non-vegetarian meal. Cherry tomato is preferred more because there are no chances of falling of the pulp from the skin. While serving these tomatoes, make sure that you cut them into 2 pieces so that it cools down.
Eggplants!!! How can we forget them? After tomatoes, people prefer eggplant for preparing a meal on the skewers. The texture of the eggplant renders a manduction and chewy contrast. Natural sweetness is also ejected when you grill them.
You can also choose Peppers. The bright and appealing colors of peppers and their flavor make it an ideal vegetable that can go with shish kabobs. Squares of 2-inches of red, orange, green and yellow colored peppers can be used together to give your meal a colorful look. To add zest to your cuisine, you can use piquant chili peppers or banana peppers.
With onions, you can add an invigorating edge to your vegetable shish kabob. Cut small sized onions into half pieces and thread it onto the skewers. For a sweeter and milder aroma, use Vidalia onions or red onions rather than using yellow or white onions.
For adding more savor and pliability, do include Mushrooms. Mushrooms release juices when they are cooked and these juices add flavor to those vegetables that are threaded beside them.
Though potatoes have no flavor, but they can best complement the vegetables with which they are grilled on the Shish Kebab Skewers. Normally, the potato pieces take a long time to get cooked, but if you cut them into the pieces much smaller than the other vegetable pieces, the potato pieces and other vegetable pieces will take equal cooking time.
