Choosing The Best Nut Fasteners For Your ProjectBy Expert Author: Rahul Ranjan
Do you work in an industry where there is requirement for nut fasteners? Then you need to have basic knowledge on the various types of construction materials like nut fasteners and bolt fasteners. The knowledge saves you from making buying mistakes and ending up in losing a huge amount of money.
Some of the popular nut fasteners that are available in the market are as follows:
• Acorn or Metric Nuts: These are made of stainless or steel. These low corn nut fasteners are manufactured in two pieces – accord-shaped tops and hex nuts.
• Hex Nuts: These come with six internal sides. These are the threaded fasteners and are of versatile nut designs.
• Metric Square Nut: These fasteners come with four internal sides with a washer crown at the top and a flat bottom at the side.
• Jam Nuts: these threaded fasteners also come with side internal sides. They do not have the thickness of a full form nut, but come with only two-third of the actual thickness. These are used for tightening the work surface. These are also used to avoid loosening by tightening the heavy hex nut against a jam nut.
• External Star Nut or Metric KEPS: These also come with six sides and an external tooth lock washer, which has free spinning feature. When you tighten the nut against a surface then the tooth lock washer goes into it. The installation procedure in these nuts is very easy. The nuts also require low cost maintenance.
• Metric Nylock Nut: These hex nuts are filled with nylon collar at the back. These are used with bolts and machine screws that are made of same material as that of the nuts. However, as these are made of nylon, you should not use these at temperatures between 150 degree Fahrenheit and 300 degree Fahrenheit.
You can take help of internet search engines like Yelp, Yahoo Local, Google Places, and such others, to find the best provider for nut fasteners. There will be a list of hundred providers near your locality. You can read the reviews and feedback posted by previous customers and make sure about the authenticity of the dealer. You can also check the credibility of the dealer with the BBB or Better Business Bureau and see the rating. The BBB lists a number of registered service and product providers and on the basis of complaints / feedback from the customers and the way these companies deal with those, they give a rating. If the chosen company achieves a minimum grade of “B” with the BBB, then you can be sure of its reliability. You can make a list of such three to four companies and compare the price quoted by each. Choose the provider that suits your affordability the best.
