The overhead scanner works just like a flatbed, but it was designed with books and other wide-area media in mind. Sheetfeed Scanner

The sheetfeed scanner derives its workings from the flatbed but designed with high output in mind. This type of scanner can handle more documents at a time than the rest of the scanner family but usually at the expense of image quality. A sub-variant of the sheetfeed scanner can scan blueprints and other media too big for the overhead scanner to scan.

Drum Scanner

The drum scanner is arguably the biggest type of scanner in the market, housing advanced electronics that create high-definition scans. However, drum scanners for office use are few and far in between, if any. Aside from their low output, it takes a separate discipline to master the equipment.
