Hidden Benefits Of Invisalign That Only Users Have Noticed

By Expert Author: Peter Roseberg

Invisalign treatments aren't for everyone. There are people who are straight up denied from these treatments due to the simple fact that their teeth need more work than just straightening. So getting yourself into an Invisalign treatment could be a godsend if you really need to have your teeth straightened but don't want to get traditional braces. Not only do you not have to suffer through the painful method of traditional braces, you have extra benefits that your dentist wouldn't be able to tell you simply because you figure them out for yourself.
One such benefit is forced dieting. Most invisible braces are removable, but those with attachments are harder to remove than those without. At any rate, your clear aligners are supposed to be worn for as long as possible so as to be effective. Should you remove your aligner too much, your teeth that's supposed to be straightened by them snaps back to their original misaligned positions. That being said, the only time you should remove your aligners is when you eat or when you brush. This means that you will only be eating during breakfast, lunch, and dinners. Anything in between has to be abandoned.
Another "hidden" benefit is forced improvement of your oral hygiene habits. More often than not you'll find yourself having stinky breath. This is due to the pooling of saliva in your dental trays. Not only do they stay on those trays, the rest of your mouth dries up too often as well. These two bad-breath-inducing factors result to twice the strength of your Invisalign-induced halitosis. This means that you not only have to brush the recommended minimum of three times a day, you may have to brush and gargle mouthwash at least five times a day to keep the bad breath away.
If your mouth starts going dry and you can't brush for a while, drinking water may help. In fact, this is another hidden benefit of Invisalign treatments: making you drink water. So if you think you're not drinking the recommended eight glasses or at least three liters of water per day, having clear aligners on may just convince you to.
Finally, invisible brace users report of having another hidden benefit: they get whiter teeth. It could be just mind tricks: that they get used to how they look with their dental trays on and forget how white their teeth actually are. However, most of them attribute this to the fact that after brushing, toothpaste may remain on their teeth as evident when they remove their toothpaste-covered dental trays. Another possibility is the fact that the teeth are not exposed to any elements while the brace is worn, thereby protecting the teeth from any discoloration.
As you can see, Invisalign treatments come with more benefits in addition to straightening your teeth. These benefits are mostly unknown to your orthodontists, unless they have undergone their own Invisalign treatments as well. When you start your Invisalign treatment, be sure to keep track of your habits. You never know what bad habits you let go and what good ones you pick up. This applies not just to Invisalign treatments, but for other dental procedures as well, such as implants. If you need to know dental implants Melbourne cost, visit My Dental Implants.
