Choosing a skilled technician for you printer issues is not a very easy task. You need to do a proper research. Also, you can try some measures by yourself to fix certain issues that are not complex. The most common issue that people face with their printer is slow printing.

Here are some ways to speed up the printing without taking help of printer repair expert:

Print in Draft Quality

Apart from any photograph, there is no need to print other documents with high quality. There are many printers that are set up automatically to print with fine quality. Thus, you can change the printing quality for normal documents. Difference is very slight in the documents printed in draft quality that cannot be noticed by an untrained eye. When the text or graphics appear in dark grey, it means they are printed in black and white. By doing this, you can reduce the printing time as well as amount of ink used.

Print in Black Ink

In most color printers, black and white prints are made using various ink colors present in your inkjet. If you want to print with only black ink then you need to specify this to your printer. Therefore, by printing with only one ink you can reduce the time of printing as well as save your money.

Use Wired connection

Always use the printer that is connected to your computer directly as it will print fast. Printer that is connected to a network is comparatively slow. Wired connection is always faster than wireless connection. Thus, speed up your printing process by using wired connection or direct connection to your computer. USB connection is the fastest type of connection. Thereby, save time by connecting your printer directly to your computer using USB if possible.

Keep Printed Documents

For a windows based computer, there is a feature available in the print spooler through which you can speed up printing of documents. This feature is known as “Keep Printed Documents.” You can find this setting located in printer properties. Cut down the time of printing any identical document by going to advanced properties dialogue box. This option is applicable for the business situations where same document is needed repeatedly.
Change the Document Settings

There are some third party software applications that can be used to change the DPI settings for documents. This will reduce the printing time. But, the drawback of using these software programs is its cost.

Thus, by applying above tips you can resolve slow printing issues without calling printer repair experts.
