There are excellent ferry links that allow you to easily sail between all 25 inhabited islands, you can also get direct flights from the mainland to Islay, Coll, Colonsay and Tiree, along-with Campbeltown on the Kintyre Peninsula.
Mid-Argyll has the densest concentration of cup and ring marked rocks within Britain and Kilmartin Glen itself contains the largest cup and ring marked site in Europe,at Achanbreck.
Within Argyll and the Isles there are 14 world-class distilleries, producing whisky. Visit the Isle of Islay where there are 8 distilleries alone, a wonderful place to visit if you wish to try samples from the source.
When you visit the Isle of Iona you can't help but feel a deep sence of tranquility and peace. Here you can gaze upon St Martin's Cross, an intact carved stone cross from the 8th century.
