Side Trip Destinations For International Travellers To Hong Kong

By Expert Author: Ninad Chaudhari

While planning for a trip to Hong Kong, many travellers come across many popular side trip destinations nearby. They don’t miss out on the Terra Cotta Warriors in Xian or Hong Kong Wetland Park. People also explore the Macao culture. But they tend to overlook some of the finest choices for international holiday goers. Whether you are a business traveller sick of the regular destinations or a family with a day-off from a Honk Kong travel package, these trips will surprise and refresh you for sure. Let’s look at some of them to find out more.

Cheung Chau, the first on the list, is a small island near the south-west end of Hong Kong Island. This dumb bell shaped island is a half hour ferry ride away from the main city and popular side trip destination with most Hong Kong travel packages. Yet, few people get to see the heart of this island. This sassy destination comes with its own charm. Kwun Yam Wan Beach on this island is much better than most other frequently visited pirate caves. This windsurfing and canoeing beach is as gorgeous as it is challenging. Most people can also visit Pak Tai temple, the oldest temple on the island. There is even a secret night market! Most international holiday goers, lacking the right know-how, tend to miss the enchanting beauty of this island.
Guangzhou; an epitome of modern China, is another option, and engages travellers with theme parks, museums, parks and street markets. Unlike Shanghai and Beijing, this city holds a bit of non-Chinese appeal. This undiscovered “diamond in the rough” is just a few hours away from Hong Kong and a perfect choice for unconventional international holidays in China. You can check out the crocodiles in Guangzhou CrocoPark, the Chimelong International Circus and rare marine life in Guangzhou Ocean, all of which offer an uncommon experience for travellers.

Just an hour away from Hong Kong, another option arises in the form of Shenzhen, a historical and entertaining city. Amusement parks dazzle the Chinese experience for travellers. Highlights of the trip include the tomb of a young Song emperor, an ancient city, a Ming dynasty fort and the Hakka culture museum. This is also a traditional weekend destination for many of the locales on account of the several spas it sports. From gold fanatics to beach lovers, everyone will find a source of indulgence in this city.

When you are enjoying a Hong Kong travel package, there can be no shortage of side-trip destinations. You can love the wetland park or spend two days in an amusement park with equal passion. Are these the best side-trip destinations, though? Well, they are the most wholesome ones for tourists for sure. If you do find the one that you are truly passionate about from these places, the experience becomes all the better for you! Because one thing is for sure; true passion transforms an attraction into a treasure and every moment into an experience of a lifetime
