Since your main priority is to defend yourself in a tough situation, the improvements you gain through such a simple workout could prove life saving. This can be all of the motivation you need to continue to be consistent with your brief daily workout.

You will notice benefits straight away. You may find you're rather worn out each time you work out. If this is the case, your self-defense classes are likely tough also. Being worn out easily takes all of the fun out of self-defense classes. Even worse, your ability to easily learn important self-defense techniques could be sabotaged by a lack of proper conditioning. So this is in addition to the increased ability to perform physically in a self-defense situation. When you're able to to perform at maximum efficiency in the class, you'll get a lot more out of it. Thus your self-defense abilities increase significantly as your fitness improves.

It is very important to be fit if you wish to be sure you can guard yourself, but this doesn't mean you must devote hours to exercise each day. Confidence is one other vital aspect of being able to and convincing potential predators of your ability to protect yourself. Confidence comes along with physical fitness.
