Hard drive space is a great commodity on a computer. Your hard drive has all of the software files necessary to operate your computer. It is also the default location for where files will be saved on your computer. Due to this default action, a hard drive can quickly become full of different files just through sustained use of the computer. This can be executed like the previous mentioned method by first opening the Excel file. Then, click the ‘Office' button in the upper left hand corner of the Excel window. This will bring up a menu of options for the spreadsheet. Click the ‘Save As' button located about halfway down the list of options. This will bring up another window with various options for saving. Click the arrow next to the ‘File Type' option to bring up options for saving the file. Then, choose the .xlsb option to save as an Excel binary file, which uses much less space than a traditional .xls file.
