Preferred Airports To Connect Through

By Expert Author: www.cheapfares.com

Cheap travel deals, such as cheap fares, cheap airplane tickets, discount hotel rooms, cheap auto rentals, discount travel packages, and cheap vacation specials, influence many people’s travel plans. Still, given that you often have a choice where you will connect when flying, it is useful to know some of the best airports in the world.

Layovers often used to mean hours of boredom, cramped seating and stale sandwiches. The bad news is that since airlines today fly larger planes and have reduced the number of flights, layovers typically are much longer. The good news is that select airports around the world have dramatically improved their services and amenities.

The following are highly recommended airports, according to Executive Travel:

• London Heathrow’s Terminal 5’s Heathrow Boutique offers complimentary personal shoppers. The terminal is home to an 11,000 square foot Harrods and a gallery showcasing sculptures of emerging British artists. There are 105 different restaurants to choose from, some quite high end.

• Amsterdam Schiphol Airport houses the world’s only museum to be annexed in an Airport. The Rijksmuseum Amsterdam is free and showcases paintings by Dutch masters such as Jan Steen and Ferdinand Bol. It is also where you can find the world’s first airport library, with print and e-tomes available in 29 languages. Free Wi-Fi, multiple spas, and showers at Departure Lounge 3’s Mercure hotel comes in handy. This airport even has a totally device free Silence Center.

• Munich International Airport is where travelers can sample some of the country’s best brews at Airbrau. This traditional tavern offers a beer garden shaded by chestnut trees and an onsite brewery as well as live music. Terminal 2 is home to individual sleeping pods equipped with iPhone and USB ports.

Visitors can find 16 locker style cell phone charging stations in Terminal 2 as well as rooms for sleeping, showering, and plenty of shops and restaurants.

• Changi International Airport is home to a butterfly garden, free movie theaters, a 40 foot slide, and a Balinese themed rooftop pool in Terminal 1. It also houses the “Kinetic Rain” sculpture which is comprised to 1,216 bronze “droplets” of different shapes. Terminal 2 is home to an entertainment area that includes Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 stations. • Hong Kong International Airport sports all of the work related facilities and services business people look for as well as many non-business distractions including an outdoor nine hole regulation golf course, the world’s first airport IMAX theater, and a iSports simulator for car racing and basketball. Restaurants, including Michelin starred ones, abound. $50 buys a pass to one of two super sleek Traveler’s Lounges that come with bars and showers.

• Incheon International Airport has two movie theaters which play Korean and Hollywood movies, an ice skating rink and an 18-hole putting course. There are seven gardens at the airport. At the airport’s culture center, travelers can make Korean paper crafts and watch traditional music and dance performances. • San Francisco International Airport is where travelers can find the SFMOMA Museum Stores and the Airport Museum which hosts varied exhibits including “Inspired Design: Shaker Furniture” and “United We Stand: Female Flight Attendant Uniforms of United Airlines.” Sea creatures from around the world can be found at a branch of the Stienhart Aquarium at the airport.
