Few people have it in them to make it big and claim global acclaim for their work. Many people have the talent and potential, but they somehow fail to have a breakthrough impact on the world. There are a number of courses and fields that may interest different people. Some people are into engineering and sports, while others may be interested in medicine and management. Very few people take the path of becoming a research scientist and a professor. One of the reasons for the same is that there is no shortcut to making it big if you are a researcher. A lot of effort has to go into your field work if you are to become big ad make a name for yourself in the world. Dr. Fatih Uckun is one such prodigy who made sure that he did not give up even when the world was against him. It takes courage to take a path that very few have taken and others dread to take. The research field does not just mean spending countless hours of your life locked away in a room just to prove a theory. The field is essential and is responsible for a number of important discoveries and innovations that they world has seen in recent times.

He started his educational career in the Germany. The Heidelberg University in Germany has been known to produce some of the best-known faces in the field of medicine and engineering. Fatih Uckun is just one of these men who decided to pursue his dream of becoming a researcher and work towards the betterment of children. Over the years, many children have passed away due to circumstances that were not in their control. Cancer is a disease which is not completely curable if detected late and is a disease that consumes many a human life on a daily basis. The doctor made sure that hey continued his education and set out of the country to pursue his dreams and ambitions. He landed in the United States of America, where he is known to have completed a postdoctoral fellowship in immunology with the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. This is an achievement for any person, especially because it takes years of hard work and dedication to complete a fellowship at such a young age.

From then on, Mr. Fatik Uckun has moved completed a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplantation with the same university. His papers and research work has been critically acclaimed and published in some of the best known science journals around the world. Having achieved so much, many people start to feel accomplished, but the doctor continued to move ahead and is currently serving as a Full-time Professor of Research Pediatrics for the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC) and Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases of the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA).
