Budget Airport Parking

By Expert Author: Lenard Eklov

We all have lots of options open to us as choosing an airport car park, that is if you decide to use it. This really depends upon how long you aim going away, you have to ask yourself if you want long term parking or short term parking, which is normal if you should only be away a very short time, the alternative is to get public transport or a taxi to the airport or get dropped off.

If you are traveling, it is always best to consider the alternatives that you have before making a final decision. First, determine if the airport's parking price will suit your budget (most airports cost a certain rate per day), and whether or not you are willing to have your car within a public area unattended for a lengthy period of time. In fact it's no longer a bad thought, especially if you are going away for a break, to get dropped off at the airport instead of utilizing airport parking at all. Remember though to always make arrangements to be picked up whilst you get back or else you may become stranded, airports are usually very helpful for offering places to park while waiting to pick people up - when long when they go to the correct airline terminal.

As already discussed you do not even have to use airport parking as most people get someone to pick their car up for them. This makes sense if you know which particular person as you only have to pay for short term parking. Make sure this is somebody you trust completely, after all, you are putting one of your most valuable assets during the hands of someone else-- which is, your vehicle. Remember also to tell them exactly where you parked your vehicle, so which it is easier for them to find your vehicle when they arrive to pick it up. Also don't forget to provide them with a spare set of keys, otherwise they won't be able to start your vehicle!

So if you have have finally decided upon the sort of parking you are going to require and you have also determined that it will be short stay parking then here's a piece of advice: remember to put your car keys into your luggage and not what you take onto the cabin with you and this is because that way you won't risk the harrassement of being questioned by the security staff at the x-ray area. More advice is security, basically remember to have nothing of value on display showing in your vehicle before walking away from it. If there is nothing on show then these opportunists will pick an easier target (unless they plan to steal the whole car. Another very important safety consideration is to park up around other cars and your car is well lit up, then this would deter car theives from attempting to get into your car. It also helps to have pictures of your car and the surrounding area when you park up at the airport, which would help you to recall where you parked, and will give you additional evidence should your vehicle suffer any sort of damage whilst you are away. You will be able to use these photos whilst evidence which it was damaged before you arrived.
