Fats are among the macro nutrient which is needed for the body. Fats are composed of fatty acids which are binded to glycerols. The most common type of fat is triglyceride which are further classified into saturated type and unsaturated type according to their chemical formation. Unsaturated fat which is found in vegetable oil is much healthier as compared to saturated type of fats. Saturated fats are generally in a solidified form at normal room temperature in comparison to unsaturated fats that are available in liquid form.

Omega 3 and omega 6 are the essential type of fatty acid that has to be included in the everyday diet for meeting the nutritional requirement of the body. Fatty acids consist of different types of polyunsaturated fatty acids. The polyunsaturated fatty acids not only prevent cardiac disease but also provide the essential oils needed by the follicle of hair for maintenance of hair shine and luster.

Omega 3 fatty acids are also required to keep scalp healthy by allowing the hair to remain hydrated and prevent it from drying. As Omega 3 fatty acid helps an individual in multiple ways it is advised to include it in the daily diet.

Presence of Omega 3 fatty acid in correct proportion promotes not only a healthy scalp but also acts as a building block for follicles of hair.

Among vegetarian diet walnut and Alsi known as flax seeds have high portions of omega3 fatty acids.

Mono unsaturated fats found in avocados and walnuts also help to keep hair lustrous and shiny.
