The methods have been used in Egyptian and African cultures for hundreds of years.

Woodworking can be learned through self-teaching or formal education. In either case, there are general hints and information that should be kept in mind. Beginners are encouraged to take time with their work. When beginning a project, this process can be quite overwhelming and so some may feel compelled to rush through it. A woodworker should also have tools that are sharp and not dull, as the dull tools are considered dangerous. It is essential that individuals learn how to safely and correctly sharpen tools. When shopping for materials and equipment, do not lose sight of the fact that not one single product that can do it all. Make sure to invest in items that are high quality, and strive to use of hand and power tools as much as possible.
