Engineering (Civil Branch) is one of the most popular jobs in the present scenario. When building of infrastructure is on the rise in most of the nations all over the world, having a degree in this field is of much value to the people. This is the reason why there is a growing demand among the people for such courses in this field.

Experienced professionals with a basic knowledge of work are always in demand. Skilled professionals in who have done Civil Engineering and who have the knowledge of project management and designing of new projects enable themselves to bag good jobs in the market. Without good training and proper knowledge it will not be possible for a person to get a good job in this competitive market. Hence this course is of much importance to the people.

There are total eight semesters in the course which one has to complete. This has been formed keeping in mind the needs of the people. By dividing the course into semesters, the students will be able to get a better and proper understanding of the subject. B.Tech civil engineering course have been started for this purpose. The course structure has been made in such a way so that the student will be able to get a proper idea about the course. This will enable them to make a better career in this field in the long run.

The course is of four years duration. Each semester is of six months duration. This has been done so as to give the students a good idea of the various aspect of the engineering. The candidates will not only get theoretical knowledge but also practical exposure. They will be taken on industry visits and this will help in enhancing their knowledge considerably. The students will also have to complete two major projects on the subject so as to get a good idea about the area in which they will be working in future.

For getting admission in the course, the student must maintain an aggregate of fifty percent marks in the class ten and twelve board examinations. They must also have a combination of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the class twelve board examinations. JEEMAIN is also conducted in the institutions to select the best candidates for the course. After the initial screening of the students is done in this process, the counseling of the students is done on the basis of the merit list. The well ranked students are given more preference over the other candidates. Then they are selected on the basis of the performance in the counseling session.
