The Unbelievably Bright And Portable P20c2 Eagletac Flashlights
Total Articles: 23
The P20C2 and P20A2 EagleTac flashlights are some of the most popular portable torches from this brand. The P20C2 is brighter than the P20A2. The difference is in the power source. The P20A2 uses two ordinary AA batteries; the P20C2 uses the more powerful CR123 batteries. The latter can shine a beam of over 500 lumens (sometimes up to 700 lumens). The P20C2 can only manage half of this given its comparatively weaker batteries. Besides the power source, the two devices are virtually the same.
Intensity and Illumination
The torch has three intensity options. The highest level is very bright and will take a lot of battery power compared to other types like the Niteye Torches. The full lights will take a lot of energy and therefore causes some considerable level of heating. This cannot actually happen since there is a mechanism that prevents overheating and switches the power off.
For this reason, they can only operate on full illumination for only a period of time; otherwise the circuits will be overworked and overheated. With the lower illumination value the torch can produce more than 100 hours of lighting. This is enough to last several days on a few cells. The Mk II can produce up to 720 lumens when completely bright. The light is still very bright even from more than a hundred meters away.
Lighting and User Interface
The lighting mechanism is operated by a twisting motion combined with a push of the buttons. The systems allows for easy switching between the lighting mode. The switch at the rear allows you to switch to strobe mode, without affecting the other illumination options. The design on the torch allows for this twisting action without compromising the water tight casing and allowing water to get into the torch.
This is one of the EagleTac flashlights that are easy to operate using the user interface. There are modes that can be quickly accessed using certain special mechanisms that allow you to switch to the low illumination mode. This mechanism is however not retained once the torch has been switched on and off, i.e. the memory losses the previous settings.
Grip and Casing
The casing provides an attractive and reliable grip. It has a textured and raised grip that makes it comfortable to hold in the palm of your hands. It also has a stainless steel metal casing which means that it can handle exposure to water and heavy rain without damaging its finish or allowing water to seep through it.
This is one of the most powerful flashlights in the market and compares favorably to some of the Niteye torches of the same price and ratings. It is portable, efficient and lightweight. By using four small batteries, it produces more illumination than is possible with other types of flashlights. Allows for various applications and uses. Can fit into the palm of your hands or pocket.
