Katra is famous for the holy shrine of Vaishno Devi, has a thriving tourism industry. There has been a number of increase of pilgrims throughout the year. Over the years there has been so much change in the city and should not miss the oppurtunity to buy souvenirs, dry fruits, woolen garments, leather jackets, etc. A pilgrimage is considered to be one of the holiest in the country. Now travel for devotees has become much easier as train goes now directly to Katra, and the facility started in this August only and even the transport department is in talks with Government to integrate permit slips for Darshan in temple. There is another route from shrine for Baba Bhaironnath and sacred journey is incomplete until and unless you visit this place and dazzling scenery on the trek is there. Helicopter services and and auto rickshaws and that too environment friendly are in the options to make the trip pleasant. The shopholics can do shopping for items of their choice in the market. The place do not give you much choice for purchase but still some items of interest like woolens and others can be given a thought.
