Many believe that one of the most beautiful areas in the entire Mediterranean region is west coast of Mallorca, which totally dominated by the Tramuntana Mountains. Llevant mountains are not as high as the Tramuntana mountains , but here's a beautiful scenery and plenty of opportunities for hiking . Near the town Santanyi below contains natural park Parc Natural Mondragó with an interesting bird and plant life.
By Tramuntana mountains you will find many walking trails and magnificent scenery . The area is considered by many reckoned as one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean. This is also where you'll find Sóllerdalen , a great place for a hike on Mallorca. Here there are more than 120 km of hiking trails , and you can choose from more than 25 routes. Some of the routes are only a few hundred meters above sea level , while the other goes to almost 1000 meters altitude .
It is also in the Tramuntana mountains , there is provided a hiking trail for the blind wandering . Hiking trail is marked so that it can be followed using a cane and rocks, branches and other irregularities are removed. The route is 1 km long , and along the way there are information boards in Braille . Additionally, there are plantings on the hiking trail , which smells and can be touched with the hands.
